NONUMENT is a Toronto-based architecture and design practice founded by Dom Cheng in 2020. Our studio is conceived as a place to work, play, learn, and grow without any a priori notions of a destination or particular style. Architecture, for us, is a collaborative enterprise to create buildings, spaces, objects, and everything in between that merge art with use – but never art for art’s sake. Our collective experiences can create new and inventive possibilities.

Dom Cheng is a registered architect with the Ontario Association of Architects with over 20 years experience accumulated at award-winning firms across North America. His works have been published in Canadian Architect, Canadian Interiors, Designlines, Protocol (Universit√§t der K√ľnste Berlin), On Site Review, POOL (UCLA), Paprika! (Princeton), LA+ Journal (UPenn), Drawing Futures (Bartlett), Warehouse Journal, The Globe and Mail, and Testing Ground Journal (University of Greenwich).

Our Services

An architecture overview provides you with comprehensive insight into the overarching vision and design principles behind your project, helping you establish your project goals and creative direction.

Conceptual and schematic designs help transform your ideas into visual concepts and preliminary blueprints. This stage focuses on exploring innovative design possibilities and setting the initial aesthetic direction.

Permit drawings are the essential documentation needed to obtain necessary approvals from local authorities. We create these detailed plans and documents to ensure your project complies with zoning and building codes.

Construction drawings and tendering packages are the technical blueprints that contractors and builders rely on. They include all the specifications and details needed to bring your project to life, and are crucial for accurate cost estimation and smooth construction processes.
